Rowan Mataram is a project officer with TNI’s Public Alternatives team. She is a British-Indonesian researcher, facilitator and movement builder, who works on globally just energy systems, energy democracy and democratic, accountable, public services. Alongside this she is passionate about the role of culture in shifting discourse and the importance of policy and governance in finding equitable solutions to the world's challenges.

She previously worked at Platform London on municipal energy transitions, enabling local participation in climate action and developed the Compassionate Organising Toolkit. Prior to that she was the Head of Campaigns at Rethinking Economics, and community organiser with War on Want on Trade Justice issues. 

She co-edited Energy Transition Mythbusters and ‘Green’ Multinationals Exposed.
